…. Such were the kind of conversations we exchanged without even realizing at what moment our appreciation of each other's art transitioned into a beautiful connection beyond and deeper than we ever imagined.

While personally we evolved into the best of friends, but to decide on a professional collaboration really needed to be relevant and completely convincing.

Pause, breathe and then the thought discovery process starts leading to exploring the relevance of an association like this. How and why we have come so far, so strong together, is because our core personal value systems are synced seamlessly. Also since both Prathaa and Kabir Cafe are conceived out of passion, a lot of our personal principles and belief reflect in the work,visible to everyone  …

The 3 top thought discovery emotions that brought us together in this magical association  - 

1. Sant Kabir was a 15th-century weaver poet and the very “WHY” of Prathaa’s existence is the weavers. Like our Founder lays the foundation of the brand,"Prathaa is because of the weavers and artisans, not the other way round" . Team Prathaa is continuously trying to discover and evolve sustainable ways to develop a system to be able to provide a continuous long-term livelihood to India’s weaver and artisans community. The constant effort is to be able to revive and preserve their skills in the most effective and sustainable manner.
2. Both Prathaa and Kabir Cafe work towards preserving the traditional with a contemporary narrative. The medium for Prathaa is experimenting on a variety of silhouettes in clothing /garments and for Kabir Cafe, it is experimenting with different genres of music keeping the content /heritage weave and art intact.
3. By merely following our art and passion in a mindful manner, we have started a ripple of community conversation, very subtly leaving a social and environmental impact, touching lives merely by doing something that makes us the happiest.

And both Prathaa and Kabir Cafe effortlessly demonstrates their respective forms of art in a very authentic, real style through all our communications/interaction in person or through our creations to all our extended team including consumers/audience.

This exclusive association once again validates our faith in “collaboration over competition “. Our conviction that by being true to our intentions, we miraculously attract and manifest the right kind of people/circumstance and associations. This effortlessly works towards amplifying and translating our common community conversation from a ripple to a wave.

The Process

Only a bond as close as this could challenge team Prathaa to venture out of their comfort zone to extensively explore creativity on menswear. Sometimes in life, we need friends like these, who believe in you more than you even believe in your own self, to be able to re-discover yourself. Exactly what we did in the new journey.

Brainstorming lead to the thought discovery process. And finally, once convinced on the larger relevance of this association, there was no looking back.

Like Prathaa’s ongoing collections, the creative journey with Kabir Cafe was also an intensive process that underwent an elaborate birthing process. On one hand, it involved an in depth understanding of Sant Kabir along with his philosophies and interpretation into verses, On the other hand, it was understanding the style statement and comfort, body type of each one of “my boys”, as our Founder lovingly calls them.

It was an immersive exploration before we went to the drawing and the cutting board of actually garment creation.

Takeaway: Once the mission of the journey is established out and loud, internally as well externally, you magically have relevant travellers joining the journey, making it more meaningful.
