So, the enforced lockdown and slowing down had to happen and it has given all of us a taste of living with the basics and gradually perfecting the skill of actually managing quite well.
While we are leading a very basic, paced down life during this lock down and in this process even when we are unaware, our thoughts are continuously being processed. Subconsciously they still occur. So it means that the brain doesn't ever stop functioning.
Being cooped up at home all day and when the rest of the household challenges have been streamlined and fallen into a pattern, the mind gets into processing fresh thoughts at a subconscious level. The multi-tasking of our regular daily life, like switching from app to app can be so overwhelming at times. We are continuously processing overload of information, which unknowingly affects our concentration and impacts our minds. We now have a new set of challenges and hurdles to overcome.
Having said that, our minds can be steered into any direction we want it to go in. I put some serious thought into this and decided to make the conscious effort of limiting my time on media, using the same to do something efficient and worthwhile.
While the uncertainty of the economic conditions gives me jitters but the current “down time” also gives me a sense of gratitude that I can now step back and evaluate Business, not in a hurried manner, but calmly. The nervousness and anxiety can easily take over our sanity and leave us nowhere but instead I decided to breathe, pause and look inwards. Starting from the core and heading outwards, I reflect on the foundation which builds Prathaa - Weaving Traditions, our strengths and “not so strong” qualities , our reason to be. I re-visit the “Why” and “How” of Prathaa - Weaving Traditions, only to will myself and team to stay on the right path and be better at whatever it is we do.
During one of these introspection, I thought of narrating our experiences and emotions in the current circumstance and then retracing our steps a bit to re-live and share some of the beautiful experiences, memories, stories associated with my travels, living the life of our weavers and artisans in their villages to understand their art and skill. Infact it was way past midnight, during one of these travels after a very consuming, and exciting day of learning that I birthed “Prathaa - Weaving Traditions” in my mind and heart.
With no idea of the “How” ? I was very clear of the “Why”?.... and when I set my heart to something, I am on fire with all my focus and strength of passion . The Universe better partner with me to make it happen …and then it was “Business as Usual”. Work and travel consumed me, in a gratifying way of course, but expressing and sharing what I experienced, my storytelling was not very consistent. It was perhaps reserved for this time.
Although most of our regular customers, our very own Prathaa - Weaving Traditions women, know us right from its origin and also identify with our value system, we want to take this time to re-establish the core philosophies of Prathaa - Weaving Traditions. Like we always say …. Prathaa - Weaving Traditions is an experience more than a brand and the Prathaa - Weaving Traditions women are an integral member of our community, something that they identify with. Sharing experiences will not only give me a sense of pride in all the efforts we have humbly invested to build our value systems but will also allow us to re-connect you with the artisans and weavers. Spreading love and forging bonds is the need of the hour.
And this is precisely how we got the warm idea for Prathaa - Weaving Traditions Katha. We are thrilled to share all our thoughts, stories, musings, ramblings, fears,
