What to Wear for Durga Puja 2026: The Five-Day Pandal-Hopping Wardrobe

Durga Puja 2026 · Styling Edit

Five days of pandal-hopping is really a wardrobe problem wearing a festival's clothes.

The short answer

Durga Puja 2026 runs from Maha Shashthi on October 17 to Vijaya Dashami on October 21. White is the traditional choice for early morning pandal visits, black works best for evenings under pandal lighting, and a light dupatta helps vary the look across all five days.

Durga Puja asks a lot of an outfit across five straight days — mornings start early to beat the crowds, evenings stretch late for the bigger pandals, and there's a fair amount of walking in between.

Here are three pieces from our Festive Collection and Best Sellers built around that rhythm.

1. White, for Shashthi and Saptami mornings

A crisp white saree has become almost synonymous with the opening days of Durga Puja, worn for the early pandal visits when the light is softer and the crowds are thinner. A white linen cotton saree with a fine bindi motif keeps that clean, traditional silhouette while staying light enough for hours of walking.

2. Black, for evening pandal-hopping

As the evening pandals open up with more elaborate lighting, darker tones photograph better and hold up through a long night out. A black linen cotton saree with a woven bindi motif doesn't show dust the way lighter fabrics can, and pairs easily with statement jewellery.

3. A dupatta to vary the look

Five days usually means several different outfits, and a versatile dupatta is the easiest way to keep things feeling fresh. A pastel peach handloom cotton dupatta softens either a white or black saree and works just as well over a kurta set.

Comfort carries the whole five days

Between the walking, the lingering October humidity and the hours spent outdoors, comfort has to come before everything else. Handloom cotton and linen weaves breathe well and resist wrinkling from being folded into an auto-rickshaw between pandals — genuinely useful when the same saree might see two or three visits.
