The fabric has elaborated detailing with beautiful designs and motifs in very vibrant and bright colours.

The process of making Kalamkari involves 23 steps. It involves bleaching of the fabric, drying it in the sun, making natural dyes, hand painting, to the processes of air drying and washing.
